Roy J. Simon

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Roy J. Simon, 91, who died Friday, June 1, 2018 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services.

Mr. Roy J. Simon was a member of "The Greatest Generation" and served honorably in World War II. He married the love of his life, Merina Dubois, in Kaplan, LA June 28, 1947. With his loving and supportive wife, of 66 years, they built a successful and prosperous farming operation in their home town of Kaplan. His greatest enjoyment was his work and his success. He imparted his great work ethic to his children and to his grandchildren. He will forever be remembered as a great provider for his family.

He is survived by his two sons, Karlon Simon and his wife, Carolyn of Pearland, TX and Mark Simon of Kaplan; three grandsons, Anthony Simon and his wife, Heather of Katy, TX, Ryan Simon of Missouri City, TX, and Stoney Simon and his wife, Tiffany of San Antonio, TX; and five great grandchildren, Emily, Madelyn, Jacob, Aiden, and Noah.

Mr. Simon was preceded in death by his wife, Merina Dubois Simon; his parents, Helie Simon and the former Elite Vincent; his brother, Thomas Simon; and his sister, Elaine Cormier.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Monday, June 4, 2018 from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 10:30 AM.
