Samantha Ann Gaspard

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Kaplan Baptist Church honoring the life of Samantha Ann Gaspard, 38, who died Monday, February 12, 2024 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She will be laid to rest at Nunez Baptist Cemetery with Reverend Timmy Farris officiating the services.

It was the simple joys of life that brought Samantha immense happiness. Her love for walking reflected her appreciation for the beauty of every moment, a sentiment she effortlessly shared with those around her. As a devoted mother and grandmother, she exuded warmth and unconditional love, creating a haven of cherished memories for her family. She had a vibrant spirit and a big love of life. The love she bestowed upon her family will forever live in their hearts.

She is survived by her son, Terry James Gaspard of Abbeville; four daughters, Clara Gaspard Smith of Abbeville, Autumn Gaspard Smith of Abbeville, Raquel Gaspard Smith of Carencro, and Verline Gaspard Smith of Carencro; her parents, Timothy Dale Gaspard and the former Delores Duhon of Abbeville; one sister, Theresa Gaspard of Abbeville; one brother, Timothy Gaspard of Kaplan; three grandchildren, Grant Gaspard Smith, Paisley Bergeron, and Savannah Gaspard Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Juanita Gaspard and John Gaspard, Sr.; her maternal grandparents, Preston Duhon, Sr. and the former Verline Smith; her nanny, Shirley Newton; and one aunt, Terry Lee Gaspard.

Visitation will be observed at Kaplan Baptist Church on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 11:00 AM until 11:00 PM and continue Friday, February 16, 2024 from 8:00 AM until the service begins at 12:00 PM.
