Sevegnier Lemaire, Jr.

Gueydan—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Sevegnier LeMaire Jr., 77, who died Sunday, October 15, 2023 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery with Reverend Stephen Sahayaraj Irudayasamy officiating the services. Mr. Sevegnier loved hunting, fishing, and religiously playing the Powerball. If you know him, he liked to give you a hard time, but most importantly, he loved spending time with his daughter and grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter, Terry Puckett and her fiancé, Jason Benoit of Church Point; eight grandchildren, Abby Walker, Raven Puckett, Hunter Puckett, Tessie Romero, Corey Romero, Kristen LeMaire, Brooke Dyson and Lauren Abate; nine great grandchildren; special friend, Annette Kershaw; one sister, Irene Guidry of Gueydan; and one brother, Floyd "Bojo" LeMaire of Kaplan. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Michaelle Richard; his parents, Sevegnier LeMarie and the former Celina Vidalier; and four brothers, Ernest, Gabriel, Norris and Doris LeMaire. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth St., on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 9:00 AM until 1:45 PM when the procession departs for the church.
