Abbeville—A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Shawn Christopher Holmes, 49, who died Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Belle Teche Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Deacon Don Bernard will officiate the service. Burial will be held at a later date.

Shawn was an avid toy collector and from an early age also collected antique bottles, stamps and comic books.

Shawn is survived by his mother and step father, Janet and Marty Benoit; father, Russell Holmes; daughters, Brooke LeFort and her husband Zack, and Natalie Holmes; Brooke’s mother, Vanessa Brasseaux; sisters, Kristen Andrepont and her husband Beau, and Joanie Benoit; granddaughter, Eden LeFort; maternal grandmother, Rita Toups; niece, Josephine Andrepont; five uncles and four aunts – who helped show him how to love and laugh.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John F. Toups; paternal grandparents, Mason and Charlie Holmes; step grandparents, Reno and Ethel Benoit; uncle, Keith Holmes; and former wife, Amy J. Zimoski.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until time of service.
