Kaplan— It is with great sorrow that we report the passing of our mother Shirley Ann Trahan Landry. On January 7, 2021, Shirley Ann Trahan Landry passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 81.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church. She will be laid to rest at Mire Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services.
To those who knew her she was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her. It comforts us to know that she and her husband's souls are reunited for eternity.
She leaves her memory to be cherished by her three children, Chris Landry and his wife, Laurie of Abbeville, Ada Patrick and her husband, Joe of Kaplan, and Angie Landry of Kaplan; her seven grandchildren, Jordan Manlove, Brennan Touchet, Bailey Touchet, Heather LaBauve and her husband, Wade, Kellie Baudoin and her husband, Anthony, Christopher Landry II, Jennifer Lavergne and husband, Aaron; and her eight great grandchildren, Paige, Neely, Ava, Adalynn, Nora, Ross, Madilyn and Noah.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dorris Joseph Landry; her parents Elus and Cedmae Trahan; and her siblings, Jenny Broussard, Peter Paul Trahan, Audrey Adams, and Johnny Trahan.
We would especially like to thank Hospice of Acadiana for all of the love and support that guided us through our mother's final journey.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 10:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 8:00 AM until the procession departs for the church at 10:45 AM.
