Shirley S. Chauvin

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Vincent Funeral Home in Kaplan honoring the life of Shirley S. Chauvin, 70, who died Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Abbeville General Hospital. She will be laid to rest at Baudoin Cemetery with Deacon Joshua LeBlanc officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will Damon Schexnaider, Bobby Schexnayder, Jacob Perry, Abby Trahan, Bradley Peltier and Lursie Bourque. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Moreland and Evan Gary.

She is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Chauvin and her companion, Charlie Dubois of Erath; two grandsons, Jimmy Moreland of Erath and Evan Gary and his companion, Olivia Taylor of Broussard; one brother, Patrick Schexnaider of Kaplan; and one sister, Barbara Trahan of Kaplan.

She preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Chauvin; one son, Phillip Chauvin; one daughter, Felicia Chauvin; and her parents, Willie Schexnaider and the former Nella Bourque.

The family would like to thank Maison du Monde, Abbeville General Hospital and Hospice of Acadiana for their care and compassion.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 9:00 AM until the services at 2:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 11:00 AM.
