Stanley Nicholas Morvant

January 30, 1951 — September 6, 2024

Leroy—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church honoring the life of Stanley Nicholas Morvant, 73, who died Friday, September 6, 2024 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery with Fr. Glenn Meaux officiating the services.

Stan was known as “the Man” by everyone who loved him. He honored his country as a young man by serving four years in the Vietnam war.  He enjoyed his work in the car business and made many friends along the way. Stan adored his family and spending time with each and every one of them. From his cigars on “beer Friday”, watching LSU games, relaxing at the beach, and singing “It’s a beautiful morning”, he enjoyed his life, and was a joy to his family. His children refer to him as the best father anyone could ask for and his 53 years of loving devotion to his wife, Donna, was beyond compare. Although there is no doubt this man is with the Lord, our temporary separation from him will be felt deeply throughout the entire family. However, we hold him closely to our hearts knowing we will one day see him again.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Donna; his children, Jacob Morvant and his wife, Crystal and Niki Morvant Cockrell and her husband, Jeff; five grandchildren, Drake Morvant and his, wife Meaghan, Lauren Lofton Richardson and her husband, Bailey, Zachary Morvant, Avery Cockrell and Lauren Cockrell; One great grandchild, Kennedy Morvant; three nephews, Scott Roy and his wife, Angela, Eric Roy and Ryan Greene; two great nephews, Cody Roy and his wife, Sarah and Cade Roy; one great niece, Camille Jeane and her husband, Dawson; and one great-great niece, Alice Roy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lennis and Gertie Morvant; his sister-in-law, Judy Greene; and his three brothers-in-law, Ted Roy, Kim Roy and Russel Greene.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 12995 HWY 699, Leroy, LA 70555, on Monday, September 9, 2024 from 10:00 AM until the services at 1:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 11:00 AM.

The family would like to thank Ochsner Acadia General Hospital in Crowley, especially Dr. Elizabeth LeJune, for Stan’s care
