Ursula Jane Celestain

November 14, 1950 — January 18, 2022

Kaplan—Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery honoring the life of Ursula Jane Celestain, 71, who was called home to join her parents on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Abbeville General Hospital.  She will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery with Deacon Tom Sommers officiating the services.

Ursula Jane Celestain, the second of six children, was born to the union of John Battis Celestain and the former Lorrainne Bessard on November 14, 1950.  Ursula was a devoted sister, aunt, sister-in-law, cousin and friend. First and foremost, Ursula devoted the majority of her life to the care and welfare of our beloved mother, Lorraine. One of her greatest pleasures was listening and dancing to old school and zydeco music. She was blessed with a unique sense of humor and unconditional love for family and friends.

She is survived by her two sisters, Vera Sampson and Sheila Frazier both of San Antonio, TX; her brothers, John B. Celestain, Jr. (Evette) of Lafayette, Joseph Kerry Celestain of Beaumont, TX and Kim Peter Celestain (Pamela) of Beaumont, Tx.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Battis Celestain and the former Lorraine Bessard.

Special thanks and appreciation to Jessica Young and the staff of Vermilion Health Care who provided care and consideration beyond the call of duty during Ursula’s stay.
