Verna Gaspard Dartez

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November  8, 2017 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Marie Verna Dartez, 80, who died Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Lafayette General Medical Center.  She will be laid to rest at LeMaire Cemetery with Deacon David Vaughn officiating the services.

She is survived by by her husband of 62 years, Earl Dartez; her two sons, Darrel "Budo" Dartez of Forked Island and Todd Dartez and his wife Terry of Cow Island; her two daughters, Bonnie Menard of Cow Island and Kim LeBeouf and her husband Sammy of Kaplan; her 10 grandchildren, Shannon Menard, Gerit Menard, Brig Menard, Darrel Dartez, Jr., Abe Dartez, Tiffany Dartez, Tristan Dartez, Jenny Duhon, Brock Romero, and Bailyn Kern; her three brothers, Eudon Gaspard, Jr. and his wife Mae Rose of Port Neches, TX, Ravis Gaspard and his wife Melba of Forked Island, and Nelton Gaspard and his wife Joyce of Cow Island; and 16 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eudon Gaspard, Sr. and the former Felicie Harrington.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Tuesday, November  7, 2017 from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Wednesday, November  8, 2017 from 8:00 AM until the services at 10:00 AM.
