Verna Mae Duhon Frederick

Abbeville—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 18, 2024 at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church honoring the life of Verna Mae Duhon Frederick, 81, who died Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at her residence.  She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Fr. François Sainte-Marie officiating the services. Those serving as pallbearers will be Bennett Choate, Boyd Choate, Garett Thibodeaux, Guy Thibodeaux, Justin Darbonne and Patrick Domingue.

Verna Mae loved being outdoors taking care of her yard and spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She still had her daughter, Myra living with her that she took real good care of. She will be missed by her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her four daughters, Pauline Thibodeaux and her husband Guy, Annette Frederick, Myra Ann Frederick, and Angela Frederick; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two brothers, Russell Duhon and his wife Marilyn, and Larry James Duhon and his wife Phyllis; and sister, Maggie Trahan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raywood Joseph Frederick; parents, Willis Duhon and the former Anite Frederick; son, Bryan Keith Frederick; sister, Juanita Simon; and brother, C.D. Duhon.

It was Verna Mae’s wishes that no visiting will take place.
