Walter John Trahan, Iii

Delcambre—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July  9, 2020 at Our Lady of The Lake Church honoring the life of Walter John Trahan III, 29, who died unexpectedly on Thursday, July 2, 2020.  He will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery with Rev. Herb Bennerfield officiating the services.  Serving as pallbearers will be Terrence Thomas, George Zenon, Randall “Bubba” Delcambre, Shawn Fritz, Chris Abshire, Ryanel “Tunna” Trahan and Toby Thomas.

Walter was a proud veteran in the United States Marines and had great love for his country and his fellow veterans. His outgoing personality left a lasting impression. He enjoyed the outdoors.  He will be lovingly remembered and missed as a husband, father, son and brother.

He is survived by his wife, Abby Gail Guidry Trahan; three sons, Gunner John Trahan, Zander John Trahan and John Russ Trahan; parents, Maybelline Thomas and Walter John Trahan, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Dorothy and Walter John Trahan, Sr.; and five sisters, Kimberly Trahan, Twyla Brown, Latoya Guilbert, Maybelline "May-May" Messinger and Ali Trahan.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mazie Duhon and Oran Joseph Trahan, Sr.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Thursday, July  9, 2020 from 9:30 AM until 1:30 PM when the procession will depart for the church.  A rosary being prayed at 11:00 AM.
