Wayman Dale Rost

Kaplan—Memorial services will be held at a later date honoring the life of Wayman Dale Rost, 66, who died Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at his residence.

He is survived by his significant other, Tina Hollowell of Kaplan; his son, Justin Dale Rost and his wife, Katrina of Kaplan; his daughters, Lisa East and her husband, Corie of Kaplan and Donna Rost and her significant other, Jared Breaux; the mother of his children, Jan B. Rost of Kaplan;  his stepdaughter, Jewels Hollowell of Lacassine; his five grandchildren, Ali East, Cheryle Rost, Brenon East, Kalem Abshire and Autum Rost; his mother, Jeanette Rost Guidry and her husband, Floyd of Meaux; his three sisters, Cyndi LeMaire and her husband, Jeff of Egen, Kara Potter and her husband, Doug of Kaplan and Lana Menard and her husband, Shannon of Kaplan; his brother, Craig Rost and his wife, Trina of Kaplan; and numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, LJ Rost; his maternal grandparents, Grandpa and Grandma Black; his paternal grandparents, Clelie and Maxie Guidry and Saul and Mable Rost; his uncles, Horace Rost, Gary Rost and Rudy Guidry; and his cousin, Kenny Harris.

Being a cowboy isn’t just about the boots and the hat. It’s respecting humans and animals while living by your morals, and not caring what others think. To the man who has taught so many that dancing and laughing will make you happier than all the money in the world. It’s never goodbye, it’s catch you later and rest in peace. (Jordan)
