Wilfred John Herpin, Jr.

Kaplan—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Wilfred John Herpin, Jr., 72, who died Sunday, December 5, 2021 at his residence.  He will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Herpin, Tommy Herpin, Charles Herpin, Josh King, Trent Herpin and Jason King. Honorary pallbearer will be Bubby LaFargue.

John was born in DeQuincy, LA. He was a graduate of Kinder High School and McNeese State University and worked in the hospitality industry. John previously worked with his parents in their oversize industrial escort business. He owned Johnny’s Burgers in Crowley. He also owned and operated the the ice cream truck in Kaplan where all the kids knew him as Uncle Johnny. John retired to care for his elderly mother who passed away in March of 2021.

He is survived by his sister, Rebecca Herpin of Kaplan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred John Herpin, Sr. and the former Laura Mae Meaux.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Thursday, December  9, 2021 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Friday, December 10, 2021 from 8:00 AM until the procession departs for the church at 1:45 PM with a rosary being prayed at 10:00 AM.
