Wilbur "Bubba" Benoit

Kaplan—Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Wilbur “Bubba” Benoit, 66, who died Sunday, May 22, 2022 at his residence.

Bubba was always a hard worker, he started working at the age of 15, farming his parents land and walking levees in Gueydan. He worked offshore as a driller from 1970 until 1986 before opening B & J Air Conditioning Company with his wife and children. Bubba served as a youth leader for the Woodmen of the World. The man we all loved had the biggest heart and loved his family, his dog, Gunner and his friends. Bubba loved serving the people of Kaplan and wherever his business took him, you could always count on Bubba.  When the storms would come in, he was always there lending a helping hand to assist people getting their air conditioners back up and running. He also assisted with boat rides to help people rescue pets from their flooded homes. His hobbies were hunting at the Argola Hunting Club in Dotson, LA, rooting for the Buffalo Bills, old cars and tractors and drinking with his friends. He will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie J. Benoit of Kaplan; his daughter, Genie B. Bertrand and her fiancé, Travis Landry of Kaplan; his grandchildren, Christian Bertrand and Taya Bertrand of Kaplan; and his sister, Cathy Benoit of Breaux Bridge.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Primeaux; his father, W. J. Benoit; his sisters, Carol "Tita" Marceaux and Danette "Doody" Meaux; and his two sons, Brent Nelson Benoit and Brandon James Benoit.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
